I got up early, took the dog out, showered, put on work clothes and was in my office at the ungodly hour of 7:30 am. I am happy for the extra cash, but I think the four classes in one day deal may have an adverse effect on my ability to function, at least on Mondays and Wednesdays.
Schedule:
8:30-9:45 Class 1
10-11:15 Class 2
11:15-12 Lunch, Alone time, Errand time, what have you
12-1 Office hours
1-2:15 Class 3 (all three of these are the same class. I get to repeat myself!)
2:30-3:45 Class 4, in another building across campus.
4-5 Office hours
It's like super concentrated teaching. For some perspective, most full time tenured professors teach 2 classes and have a graduate student TA that does the grading.
On the plus side, I am on campus only two days a week. I get here before all the parking spots are taken, and did I mention my office rocks!? Today I brought a bunch of my books in and put up a big map. I am finishing up a lovely lunch of cup-o-noodle soup and goldfish crackers (salt bomb!) all here in my little square of campus real estate. Here's hoping I don't fall asleep before my next class in...uh oh, 5 minutes. Gotta go....
