Final Countdown/Food Commercials

Summer goes by so quickly. Monday the new semester starts and I can't believe it's already here. I always get antsy in the week before classes because I totally procrastinate every single time. Every time. It's my least favorite quality, and I can't seem to shake it. I have to get a chapter of the dissertation in next week as well, so wish me luck. I will need it.

Anyway, lately I've been getting all professory and analyzing the wrongness that is Weinerschnitzel's new ad campaigns involving it's mascot, the Weiner. Besides the adolescent humor in phrases like "weiner math," there is this commercial, which is pretty much a joke about sexual harassment in the workplace. Note how it's supposed to be less gross that the woman in human resources is condoning the harassment and actually accuses Mr. Weiner of "asking for it."

I can't think of this as particularly funny. A funnier version of a similar idea is the peanuts commercial where the "ugly"woman (basically she's a little chunky and she has an obviously fake uni-brow) attracts very hot guys all around town because she rubs peanuts all over her, making her irresistable. I especially like how she walks around confidently with an "I'm totally hot" look on her face.

Most food-related commercials are getting out of control with the grossness. Food falling all over the place, people getting it all over their faces and not noticing or caring. Yuck. I love food, and I'm even on a diet, and I can't seem to get hungry based on commercials anymore. What has the world come to if food commercials don't make you want to eat!? Unbelievable!
