Would you buy a used Landspeeder from this alien?

A close-up shot of the barely seen Landspeeder dealer Wioslea, working within the Mos Eisley spaceport, whom Luke sells his speeder to for much needed currency. In the STAR WARS Expanded Universe, the alien is a she from a race called the Vuvrian. Though at least one close image was photographed showing Luke and Obi-Wan with the creature (below), it's unknown so far (though I might be proved wrong by the upcoming Blu-ray cut scenes!) as to whether any extra footage was filmed with it, played by UK extra Barry Copping, bar the long shot moment ultimately seen in the film. Obviously, dialogue for the bartering scene would eventually be created by the late Brian Daley's for his acclaimed NPR dramatisation of the film.

CLASSIC IMAGE: HIGH ABOVE MOS EISLEY!

March/April 1976: On a Tunisian mountain within whats now known as STAR WARS Canyon, Mark Hamill, Sir Alec Guinness, and Anthony Daniels get ready to film a scene where our heroes look down towards the wretched hive of "scum and villainy" that is Mos Eisley space port. The camera angle looking forwards from Luke's Landspeeder never made the final cut, instead replaced with a matte composite plate shot put over a wide image of California's Death Valley, filmed by Lucas and a small Second Unit later in STAR WARS 1977 Post-Production.

CLASSIC IMAGE: THE DENZIENS OF MOS EISLEY

Here's a great piece of McQuarrie artwork-I believe conceptual from STAR WARS early pre-production between 1975/76- that's rarely seen, showing another side of the streets of Tatooine's infamous Mos Eisley spaceport, where aliens of dubious distinction and morality mingle seamlessly with the evil tyranny of the Imperial Stormtroopers.

In my mind's eye, amongst the alien noises and Stormtroopers crackling voice mikes, I can just hear John Williams atmospheric Cantina Band music playing away in the far distance!
