I love the site that makes these cards. Someecards.com makes hilarious e-cards that are pretty much the most sarcastic, wrong way to send a greeting. It's like they know my insides. They have your standard birthday, thank you, and holiday cards. But the best ones tend to be the topical ones and the movie-related cards.
I am actually quite amazed at the selection of popcorn movies I get to see this summer. In case you didn't know, I am not a movie snob. Sure, I think Goodfellas is one of the best movies ever made (no duh), and I will take in an independent or foreign film, but I also love totally stupid films like Grandma's Boy. By far, my favorite films are sci-fi, superhero, and vampire films. Vampires are basically super heroes, so I guess they could be part of the previous category. Anyway, that being said, how awesome are the summer blockbusters lately? Wanted, Hellboy II, The Dark Knight, a friggin' X-Files movie? I have heard bad things about Iron Man and Hancock, so I might wait to see those at home, but still. All I need is the third installment of Underworld and I might be ready to forgive Hollywood for BloodRayne.
Was I one of the people who saw The Dark Knight on opening night (or even geekier-the midnight showing?) Saldy, no. I have reached the age where my geekiness is outweighed by curmudgeon-ness. I now say things like, "there are going to be too many people there," and, "we can wait until it comes out on DVD and have the best seats in the house!" I will see this one in the theater, but not until next week maybe...
My garage sale was a moderate success, so who knows? Maybe I'll blow my purse full of $1 bills on a movie (one that came out over a week ago).
