Eyeball Woes

This is what I call my "before" picture from just a few days ago. I will spare you a photo of what I look like today. My left eye is swollen shut and red. I couldn't see out of either eye this morning. I went to the optometrist and found out that I have *gulp* corneal ulcers. From wearing contact lenses. Apparently it's kind of a big deal. I am medicating it with an anti-biotic and a steroid and I'm going to go back to the doctor tomorrow. All I know is it is painful and being almost blind for just 8 measly little hours was no picnic. I could open my right eye for a few minutes and then it would start to roll on its own away from the light! Yikes! It was interesting trying to get things done around here without being able to see.

a lot of the eye diagrams online are blue-eyed

This makes things difficult for me, as you can well imagine. I have people coming into town tomorrow, I have no laundry, and it looks like my Dark Knight plans are canceled until next week. Bah! I bought Breaking Dawn, the latest book in the series I'm reading, but it kinda hurts to read for too long. So, being stubborn and pissy, I found a way to read it anyway. I downloaded the e-book (illegally, of course) and got my PDF program to read it aloud to me in a totally passionless and creepy computer voice.

Ha ha eyeball, I win!

I listened to it for hours today as I lay sprawled across my bed in the path of the portable AC. No contacts for 3 weeks, and maybe never if it doesn't heal right. Grr....
